EMRSN x EOS: Custom Programming Wing

EMRSN x EOS is a portable programming wing for small-scale and non-traditional live entertainment events. Designed with the budget of the emerging artist or company in mind, as well as to support non-traditional or site-specific spaces without existing technical infrastructure, this project promotes more advanced capabilities within lighting design and operation, in a comprehensive and accessible format.

What was originally imagined simply as a custom keyboard to promote more efficient offline programming has since evolved to include more capabilities and features, to allow for external use with the ETC Gadget II. It’s small size ensures that it is easily portable, and is especially conducive for small or non-traditional entertainment spaces, without compromising functionality, at a fraction of the cost.

This is an open-source project, inspired by ETC Labs #lighthack, and developed in partnership with Michael Kafarowski.

We are grateful for the support and funding we have received from the Ryerson University DME Creator’s Grant, which allowed us to create our first prototype.
